If you suspect it…

Talk about it!

There is a falsehood that talking about suicide will only plant a seed for someone to do it... the opposite is true. Talking about suicide opens a door for communication and help!

Someone may be contemplating suicide if…

Possible Indicators

  • A drop in grades
  • A lack of interest in usual activities
  • A lack of motivation - decreased general activity
  • Sleeping all the time
  • Giving away possessions
  • Talking about suicide
  • Making arrangements - getting affairs in order

Possible Indicators

Continued

  • Sudden and unusual euphoria
  • Drug or alcohol abuse/use
  • Mental illness
  • Eating disorder
  • Previous attempts family history of suicide
  • Taking unnecessary risks or self-destructive behavior
